LIVE YOUR LIFE – February Action Half Term Activity Club

8yrs – 12yrs

At Nu FOCUS, it’s our mission to give every child the opportunity to take part in fun, exciting activity sessions – during both term times and the school holidays!

With a wide variety of sports, games, and activities to experience, our Multi-activity Holiday Camps are designed for children of all abilities. Each child will get the chance to develop and improve both physical and cognitive skills, as well as building confidence and self-esteem.

Each session is led by our Activity Professionals, who will ensure that your children are safe, having fun and learning new skills. It is our goal to support, lead and inspire children – with a focus on active participation, not just competition.

We aim to deliver joy, excitement, and lots of laughter to children in and across Bedford.

WHAT TO BRING

Nu FOCUS advises children to bring the following:

  1. A healthy packed lunch (nut free) will be provided, but please send 2x healthy snacks for breaks
  2. A water bottle (we provide extra water)
  3. A swim kit – towel and aids (if required)
  4. Comfortable & suitable footwear for activities
  5. Wear weather appropriate clothing, i.e. children are encouraged to take part in outdoor activities each day (weather permitting), therefore sunscreen should be applied before camp and we recommend a hat in hot weather. For cold and wet weather, we recommend children to wrap up warm and wear a coat

We do ask that all items are labelled so we can ensure your child goes back home with everything.

How much does it cost?
Prices vary between 'Action' Activity camps, but this term we have been funded by the Kingsbrook & Cauldwell BIG Local to be able to offer places at just £1. On this basis, priority is given to residents in these areas.
We also offer discounts at selected times of year.
How will the drop off and collection work?
To ensure the pickup and drop off procedure runs smoothly – a queueing system with families requiring to adhere to the latest social distancing guidelines will be in place at the sign in/sign out area. In order to contain this as much as possible – Nu FOCUS will be offering 9am -5pm for all bookings. Parents have the option of dropping off between 9am-10am and collecting from 4.15-5pm to assist with collection and drop off opportunities for parents.
How will the latest social distancing rule be enforced?
We have equipped our staff with a wide range of techniques to help positively remind children throughout the sessions to respect the latest social distancing guidelines. Further to this, each activity will contain a host of visual reminders such as posters and coned distances to reinforce the restrictions. Additionally, all games have been adapted with staff trained in the new measures to ensure all children and staff adhere to the latest distancing rules.
My child doesn't enjoy Sports, will they still be kept engaged?
Every child is unique and we recognise that some children prefer art and other creative activities. In order to ensure that all children are active throughout the day, we incorporate a variety of active and fun games that emphasize play and imagination. As such, many children forget that they're doing sport and enjoy these sessions.
